It is good that people aren’t getting plowed and I’m not wagging my finger at people not buying drinks! I had a couple of the Surly NAs, and they’re not cheap. But when your business has relied on drink sales and those just stop, it’s hard to see how to sustain.

It isn’t new information, but looking around at the crowd last night at TMBG really put into stark relief the challenges that clubs and breweries face. It was a sold-out show with essentially zero lines at the bars at any time, and from my vantage, maybe—*maybe*—10% of attendees had a drink in hand.

Got a front row seat tonight to a number of high school freshman girls talking about what happened at Cornell and they. are. terrified. about what the future has in store for them, even as some of them have already been violated. “Nowhere is safe.” The world is so fucking unfair.
