Talking to an official at the Department of Health once about whether people responsible through their behaviour for their health conditions should still get treatment (eg smokers for lung cancer). He said ‘The NHS believes in the right to redemption.’ I feel we could do with more of this now.

My father would womanize, he would start land wars with Denmark. He would make outrageous claims like claiming ownership of Greenland. Sometimes he would refer to the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.

Trump threatens to annex Greenland, the citizens of which are EU citizens. He’ll be POTUS in 2 weeks. Elon Musk has accused a British minister of being a “rape genocide apologist” & has called the PM “evil”. Meta are opting out of professional fact checking. 2025 isn’t even a week old.

living basic wage for artists ( has had big impact) managed to get & hold significant increased funding for arts council, creative ireland, set up specific funds for climate creativity and arts projects, improved funding for film sector, culture ireland, improved funding for TG4, Sound & Vision etc
