For three + years, teachers, writers, artists, humanities professors and so many others have been arguing exactly this--that this technology only produces an endless ouroboros of bland, sad, grey slop. But we were told that we were/are luddites, reactionary, old-fashioned, angry, etc etc.

That is not in fact a fact. It is an opinion. And it's a bad one. What we should be investing in is economic security and less inequality instead of more police. Treat the cause not the symptoms and an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
