I don't want any form of Christianity forced on me. None at all. Not whatever you define as Christianity or the horrifically evil creed that the mainstream Christian churches teach. NONE. I would prefer to never hear a single word about anyone's religion, ever. Especially in politics.
Show PostI don't make a big thing about my atheism, but it is always nice to hear a candidate recognize the "or not at all" aspect.
Show PostThere is much to admire in Abdul El-Sayed's response to the GOP plant in his audience. But one of the most deft things he did was to point out (twice) that our Constitution protects our right to follow *no* religion, thereby casting Christian nationalist Tommy as the actual religious extremist.
Show PostSo my first reaction was this too: if I was holding the mic I would have asked if Tommy would disavow rightwing extremists like Timothy McVeigh. But I was wrong. El-Sayed handled it much better: he went to positive principles, of separation of church and state. Amazing. bsky.app/profile/kevi...
Show PostI guess they were getting ready to hibernate in these hollow logs.
