Aurora over Haroldswick on Unst last night. I thought we were going to miss it, as it was cloudy here at first, but then the clouds parted to give us an amazing show! A great start to our week on Shetland.

Red-flanked Bluetail at Burrafirth, Unst this morning. A bit gutted not to find it myself, given I was only 20 metres away when it was found, but a dream find for @johnsoniain.bsky.social, a brilliant bird to see and fantastic to share in the excitement of it all. #UKBirding #RareBirdsUK

Our last full day on Unst for this autumn was cold and breezy, with new migrants hard to come by again. Still plenty to see though, including the bluetail now relocated to Halligarth, a 1w male bluethroat at Uyeasound and a juvenile hen harrier giving great views at Northdale. #ukbirding
