If I remember correctly, GM released OnStar back in 1996. Connected cars have been a thing for a very long time, and virtually every new car sold today has the ability to connect to the internet. I am not saying that is a good thing, but this is absolutely not a reality unique to EVs.

I don't know. The dot Com bubble didn't kill e-commerce. Someone will come out the winner after the bubble bursts and become the Amazon of AI.

The article says that this is due to a lack of supply of transformers and other electrical systems needed to build these data centers. Boycotts can be effective and we should exercise that muscle of collective action but it doesn't seem like it was the deciding factor here.
