Went to my first ever furry con this summer, #AC2024. I've only actually been calling myself a furry for about a year, and never before done anything in-person related to the fandom. It was amazing, though! Both cool and surreal, and I met a ton of great people there. Looking forward to next year.

'Amateur' derives from the same Latin root (amatorem) as Italian "amore", meaning 'love'. Being an amateur at anything means you're doing it because you LOVE it, it brings you joy. So celebrate being an amateur singer, artist, athlete, writer: you've found something you love.
