i do think theirs a problem, like with the books, of simply drowning out the non slop threw sheer numbers(especially if someones not familiar with the game being ripped off they might notice its the similar and assume its also slop without looking close enough to tell)

The main problems are slop filling marketplaces like Steam, and duplicating existing games, so yeah, cleanup sounds about right. The same was true of indie ttrpg stuff. Marketplaces were already busy, the slop wave made discovery impossible. This remains a problem as there was no/slow cleanup.
