purity culture is rape culture It is, afaict, simultaneously true that trans women are more likely to be raped than cis women and that trans women are more likely to be *accused* of rape than cis women

Show Post

So someone who rapes can get away with rape more easily by accusing their victim of rape The things that happen to survivors that make speaking up about abuse painful and dangerous either do not happen to our abusers or do not affect or threaten them if they DARVO us

Show Post

Because usually the root issue of how survivors are shamed is that people in their community *do not want to believe to us* because otherwise the social status quo must change But when a person who is doing abuse makes such allegations, believing them *doesn’t* threaten the status quo

Show Post

The status quo is not threatened by accusing a trans woman of rape, therefore you are more likely to be believed if you are accusing a trans woman The social filter of “believe the victims” falls apart if the accused is sufficiently marginalized.

Let me demonstrate this. I made out with a trans man at the bar. We were both drunk. I told him I was done and attempted to pull away. He gripped me to pull me back and force me to keep making out. I broke his grip, then fled. He persued me until I lost him in the crowd That is unambiguously SA
