Agreed. I spend an awful lot of time explaining what a learning difficulty is to staff and the implications of it in the classroom. Given the prevalence rates of Dyslexia, for example, I’d be hopeful that there would be a wider knowledge and upskilling but still seems very patchy. #EdChatIE

Completely. I ask, can the child use said spellings in their work next week? Answer is invariably no. Ask parents, what’s causing stress at home? The spellings… and sometimes Irish.. I know some children don’t want to be seen to be different but there’s an opp to def do spellings a diff way.
