I’m not an Albertan, but I’ve lived in the West most of my life. And besides being fundamentally offended by the first four questions on that referendum, it is strange that the media won’t call AB separatism what it is: a far right xenophobic project that is backed by a white nationalist agenda.

For comparison, the Napanee ESS which is 250MW with 4h backup (1GWh) battery costs 600M. No fuel cost. No water requirements. Replacement of BESS at 10-15 years is the downside. Also buffers the utility from demand spikes. Can be built in 2 years instead of minimum 10. www.napaneebess.ca
