That's similar to what I show in my book I'm working on: the particle gets entangled with the barrier, and that alters its stochastic trajectory, even if it doesn't traverse the path of the barrier, which, when you account for that, it is easy to explain the experiment in terms of just particles.

I lost my soul puppy, Blue, recently and it broke my heart. I rescued another dog, underweight, couldn't even jump in my car, and have been nursing him back to health. This is Yoshi, my new sidekick.
