The conspiracy theory is that if you edit you lose 230 protections. Ted Cruz made that false claim. And now a ton of people (including you?) seem to believe it. 230 was written explicitly TO ENCOURAGE websites to use their editorial discretion. Whole reason the law was written.

Oh, wow— it's funny what you forget in 20 years. I'd completely forgotten the (perfectly sensible) US practice of escrow payments for property taxes. It's not a thing in Canada (or at least not in Quebec). Even while your house is still mortgaged, you get the property tax bill directly.
