I remember when San Feancisco first put in red light cameras with warning signs on 19th Avenue back in the early 2000s. People complained, rear-end accidents went up! But serious injuries went DOWN by a lot. After a couple of years people started routinely driving responsibly. It was worth it!
Show PostThis was a coming out party for the shittiest drivers in the world!
Show PostUpon seeing the yellow light, assess if stop can be safely made before red... Well documented speeds and stopping distances... don't count on me to get out of your way. Monday saw red light runner, at speed, in school zone, should lose license for that and 3X fines...
Show PostRear end collisions are due to bad driving, not the cameras. As people expect others to not run red lights, it should be reduced? Or are people sooo stupid?
Show PostTo people nervous about this - RLCs are not flock-like systems. They are fully automated to only activate and take photos when a red light runner is detected. They cannot be accessed remotely or used for other means.
