Oscar attends his first protest. #nokings
Show PostTo me an underexamined bit about this is how the vibe-coder took aim at a multi-billion dollar company with infamous subscription practices using a tool (Claude Code) provided by a multi-billion dollar company with infamous subscription practices, so it's just trading one capitalist yoke for another
Show PostIn terms of large companies with software needs, it's not just about the program, it's about the maintenance, updates and security. They pay Adobe (and whomever) for upkeep, which is something a "one-shot" clone probably can't/won't do. Also those vibe-coded clones are probably insecure as fuck, so.
Show Post(This isn't a defense of Adobe or any other company using their market-leading position for rent-seeking behavior and general corporate obnoxiousness. Rather an explanation of why being able to vibe-code a clone is likely not going to spell the (immediate) end of a multi-billion dollar tech company)
