For the first time (I believe) the Lakatos Award goes to a book not published by one of the big commercial presses but by BSPS Open, an idealistic project to issue diamond access monographs. Small budget, top notch philosophy. Congratulations to John Norton and BSPS open!

Congratulations to John Norton for winning the 2026 Lakatos Award! I will admit that I have not read the two volumes, but his 2003 paper on the Material Theory of Induction is already a classic that I really like and cite regularly. #philsci #philosophy #hps
