I was obsessed with these books as a kid. My dad picked up very old copies of the entire series for us from the thrift store on his way home from work. Definitely listening to this ASAP.

This chapter is so lovely, and I'm glad THE WORLD gets to read it!!!

Ooh that’s not one I’ve considered. My oldest liked Betsy and tacy when she was younger

I also loved Caroline Haywood, who wrote the Betsy and Eddie series, and Maud Hart Lovelace, author of the Betsy-Tacy books. The original illustrations were quite magnificent.

Love this. My contribution is the Betsy, Tacy, and Tib books by Maud Hart Lovelace. Come for the boys and clothes, stay for the female friendships. Most of all, consider that the stories were set in the early 1900s. The female protagonist wanted to be a writer. And no one questioned that.
