The kicker was open source intelligence work had been done for decades, but they only seem to understand it one way. Hopefully they've picked up on what it can also mean now.
Show PostAfterwards the man who'd first contacted me said he'd heard it hadn't gone well. That was the big grant gone, and the £50,000 with it. Not great!
Show PostI got a *bit* frustrated, and they picked up on it. We went round in circles, me saying open source investigation is a thing, them saying open source means software. Then the call ended.
Show PostThey told me that's not what open source means. Open source is software, tools and technology. I said no, in my work it means this kind of investigation using publicly avaliable information online. Then they sent me the Wikipedia page for open source.
