I mask to protect myself and others. I am high risk for clotting. Got Covid for the first time last year (while wearing an N95 mask) and had pulmonary embolisms. I have barely gone anywhere indoors with people for the past 5 years.

I started masking in crowded public spaces (ex: mass transit) in 2018 for medical reasons. When covid rolled around, going full time in an n95 was fairly simple for me. I likely won’t stop until I run out of the resources to continue, because I have far more reasons to continue than to stop.

My own health aside, it costs me nothing to protect strangers whose health history I don’t know. I don’t even think about it - it is like wearing a t-shirt. I continue so others who need to might have the courage to themselves. But there are also many high risk people in my orbit.
