I'm really content with the story I told with them. They saw each other through the lowest of lows, and lifted each other to the highest of highs. They had a full double battle that I consider one of my greatest achievements. I feel like their arc, as a relationship, is complete.

I think that's how I feel about Pearl. In the anime, their dynamic is already excellent. For my own part, though, I feel like I'm so satisfied with their dynamic and interactions from writing Repaved, that I feel like their story is... done? Obviously, they'll stay together, but-

I remember seeing a tumblr post about how a fantastic series, or story doesn't generate much discussion or fanwork. It ends, everyone's more-or-less satisfied, there's not much more to say. A mediocre story generates TONS of fan discourse and work.
