I can answer here 🙂. Yes the boat is far behind, we use perspective and distance when we create those shots. You can see different examples on my page. The iceberg on that photo is approximately 100 meter high. In that area 130 meters is the maximum you’ll see. The boat mast is 27 meters high.

I'm thinking that there's also an element of forced perspective in this composition, with the sailboat apparently well back from the lens, compared to the iceberg, resulting in a significant _illusion_ of scale.
