Plane post (sorry): I have been on this plane for 7.5 hours. We were flying for four of those. 3 hours on the tarmac at one end, 30 minutes and counting on the other. For our troubles we were given a mini granola bar OR a cookie (choose one!) and a mini bottled water. I’ve been peppier!

The conceit that Enviro/EJ NGOs only fight fossil fuels to block fossil fuels w/o accounting for broader political, economic, & other factors is thus flat wrong. It is disappointing that @pugetgold.bsky.social let himself become a pawn in service of that weak argument in this fraught moment.

In that fight, we not only advocate for the retirement of fossil fuel infrastructure, but energy transition policy to support communities through economic diversification, as work that pushes utilities to deploy renewables & batteries, not fossil fuels, as replacement power.
