Need a shower, after a dirty twitch for the Long-tailed Shrike this morning. A brilliant bird to watch, in a great bit of countryside, with it showing amazingly well later during our visit. A big thank you to @peternashbeds.bsky.social for driving + great company as ever #UKBirding

Was a bit "jammy" during a flying visit to South Australia, and found 2 x regionally rare bird species near Adelaide: Plumed Whistling Duck and Square-tailed Kite - pretty chuffed to be honest #birding #BirdsSeenIn2026

A very easy twitch by train from Sydney to Kiama (approx 2.5hrs south, for only $10 each way - $50 weekly cap!) to see the locally famous Bush thick-knee (stone-curlew). Usually found much further north, this one has decided to take up residence in the church grounds #birding #BirdsSeenIn2026
