yes i'm aware the movie was directed by the guy who made the Smells Like Teen Spirit video, that's the joke, and the film is a pretty staggering indictment of his imagination, that it seems to mostly be "what if school looked nasty"

Man, the Nightmare on Elm Street remake is really staggering, it feels like the people who made it tried to zero in on what the appeal of the original franchise and thought "is it the the dream stuff? no, clearly what the audience is into is the implication Freddy's a pedo" and zoomed in on that.
