Ann was one of the kindest colleagues I have ever known: encouraging, genuine, secure in her own work and self. She was one of my champions at WaPo, and she knew the score there. Ann never hoarded information or opportunity—quite the opposite. She knew there was always room for more of us. 💔

Book of the day is Jane Austen’s “Emma”. It’s been decades since I read this, but I remember liking it! I’m reading it with a friend who’s a librarian who I bonded with over books. He remembers hating it, so 😂 I guess we’ll see how we do!
