クリストファー・リューピング演出『渇望』 戯曲にはない5人目の登場人物を舞台上に置く、という演出が本当に素晴らしくて、自分では到底思いつかなかった解釈を観れたという思い。戯曲だけ読んでいると4人の登場人物のうちの一人が性暴力の被害者なのではないか、と読めなくもなく、被害者はここにはいないと言い切るような演出プランがまず良かった。記憶違いがあるかもだけど、台詞はほぼ変えていないと思う。そのテクストへの「忠実さ」が解釈を固定化せず、むしろ開いていく演出は私の理想とするところかもしれない。
