Lloyd has added a sack and an INT since I wrote this. Give him the Defensive Player of the Week award now

Devin Lloyd and Bobby Okereke have shown early today how much the #Panthers needed a quality linebacker(s) at the second level. Both of them cleaned up on 3rd down, and Lloyd sniffed out the London sweep on 4th. Loved what I saw from Phillips and D. Brown on 3rd with the gap penetration.

I’m interested in learning two things: - Can Bryce start faster, after three years of poor starts to the year? - Can Bryce be more consistent, where his average game resembles his best games from last year? Really need the answer to both of these to be “Yes” for the season to be a success.
Show PostI did a stats deep dive on Bryce and, even with a small sample size, the difference between his good games and bad games is significant. His best games are in the Dak/Herbert range. His worst games are JJ McCarthy/Tua level bad. Wild variance! If he cuts the bad games, he’s a solid starter.
