Yes people wield social capital in this way. Social groups adhering to particular ethical codes of conduct also wield collective refusal and joint preference for association in this way. My point was "gatekeeping" is ethically speaking not the relevant component of this, the power structure is.

Hahahaha. Yeah because the key example I gave in favour of gatekeeping wasn't precisely how an anti bigotry space was not only created but had successively been defended against bigot entryism which has repeatedly tried to use liberal anti gatekeeping pluralism to justify "differing opinions".
