What are the consequences of these beliefs themselves? IMO even if we end up with normal technology this wont be a normal bubble because these aren't normal beliefs! And what if they eventually succeed in widespread labor displacement and disempowerment? Why allow these people to *ATTEMPT* that?

Show PostYou should host a discussion between @adambecker.bsky.social and @garrisonlovely.bsky.social on this topic. They both wrote books loosely about the "ideology behind AI" they both have similar values and goals (loosely left-decelerationist) and they have highly complementary perspectives.

Show PostNote: I had the same initial concerns about that book, due in part to his associations. Part of what softened these concerns was the quote by Luke Kemp on the cover. Kemp is a consistent critic of "TESCREAL" and is basically a degrowth environmentalist w/ anarchist leanings. Thats a strong choice.
