In today’s @theglobeandmail.com, Mr. Mason puts the boots to that erstwhile KuKluxKonvoy lawyer, current Alberta separatist traitor, Keith Wilson, with some well chosen words. 🍁🤭🍁
Show PostI meant raccoons and coyotes! But of course foxes would also be at risk if there happened to be any nearby. And outdoor cats and dogs could also be at risk if they're not vaccinated, of course.
Show PostThis is one reason why it's important for folks to report unusual animal behaviour immediately; to cut down on wild transmission risk. In this case it'll also be good for people to be extra aware of unusual wildlife activity for the next couple of months.
Show PostIt's possible, yes. I've heard there may be biological reasons this is less likely than a first-order spillover, but I wouldn't rule it out. My understanding is rodents rarely contract it (though it happens occasionally), so it's most likely to pass to other carnivorans like raccoons and foxes.
Show PostWould there be a chance that there's ongoing transmission in the other mammals that live in Stanley Park? If the little skunk bit several humans it seems likely it could have bitten rats, squirrels, racoons, coyotes etc
