The entire nature of the last decade of tech hype cycles has been dipshits declaring victory long before they have achieved it and then failing I know this one is bigger and arguably more real, but it's also kinda as fake as the others and you do not have to declare premature victories for them

whether I like it or not, someday they'll be "good" enough that I won't be able to tell if an image is generated just by looking at it, and that's infinitely more terrifying than a model that craps out six-fingered hands and whatever

as much as I enjoy clowning on AI when it craps out something that looks terrible, i'm starting to get a little concerned with people who's justification for hating it seems to rely on the assumption that it'll be terrible forever
