Other leagues go out of their way to give their Champions League teams more time before big European games, which is added to the fact that those teams can rest the majority of their players to keep first choices fresh for big UCL fixtures.

The TV companies don't help our teams in Europe. Arsenal played Tuesday and have a four day break before Sunday's game against Forest, but then just a two day break before an away game against Bayern Munich. Surely they could have played this game on Saturday evening?

FT: Really good result. I thought Arsenal were a bit disjointed in the first half but nowhere near as bad as some (TNT) made out, but Lille crumbled in the second - they couldn't live with the pressure. We penned them in and went through the gears when subs came on. Stress free group phase win.
