I have voted to decriminalise abortion. The 1967 Act really only set out grounds for exceptions from what stayed a criminal offence. Today we start to treat abortion rightly as a regulated healthcare choice. It should be a clear human right to access abortion when you need it.

Welcome news that the Government has confirmed it will repeal the outdated Vagrancy Act 1824 by Spring 2026 - which is criminalising rough sleepers. Analysis I shared with the Guardian in 2023 highlighted that police forces are still enforcing it: www.theguardian.com/society/2023...
