My art school student commencement speech from 2010—titled "We Are All Sorcerers"—had em-dashes in it to denote a certain pause that comes with a kind of emphasized parenthetical. People who know how to write can use precise punctuation correctly. These days apparently only sorcerers know how.

Not to mention this is the same place that said they “didn’t know” how to start a store-to-store employment transfer. Am I wrong in thinking that it’s kinda your job to figure that kind of thing out as a store manager?

I quit my job since we’re moving and my last day was the 3rd. Told her don’t schedule me. She made a big deal about a coworker also quitting that same day (her fave employee I guess) and today I got notified I’m scheduled this coming Sunday. Did she forget? Oh well.

forget it. ...and I resolved to never be her. Not because I looked down or judged her, but because I could *feel* her heartache. So, the dishes and laundry has to wait sometimes. I'm making more sci-fi creatures, and my heart is happy. 🙂 Because I'm in line with *my* priorities.
