The frustrating thing was that Inkscape potentially has the data model, but its ui isn’t designed to show it. Svg, being extensible markup anyway, can definitely deal with it. What changes is the time to try stuff like this. Awesome thinking.

The thing you’ve hit on the head is getting utilities built designed for my whims. Like desktop apps to turn a midi controller into a stream deck for managing meetings and summoning of favourite apps, alongside soma fm controls. Stuff I’d never find time or get around to without it.
