The excruciating pace is due largely to the US wrongheaded turn to the “dark side” & its embrace of #torture in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. Seemingly endless pre-trial litigation has flowed from the government’s efforts to launder the torture into admissible evidence. @brfarley.bsky.social
