With all of the terribleness at my institution, I want to say how proud I am of my students, who are navigating it all with such courage, and dignity. They are seeing what's happening, asking hard questions, and organizing to demand change. All of it while meeting the demands of their courses.

the speed at which human beings move from "this terrible thing exists" to "everyone just has to learn to live with it" is truly alarming and illuminating. Immediately moving to compliance. Watching this in real time is incredible.

Not a good analogy but it’s occurred to me it is like giving credence to the Satanic Panic—except there you had ‘witnesses’ (unfortunate children being led) at least. This one is people without credibility on the internet making implausible unsubstantiated claims. And refusing all refutation.
