Yeah, I long ago made peace with the fact that flying cars are cute visual shorthand for “the future!” in fiction but there’s innumerable reasons why laypeople couldn't and shouldn’t be given access to solo-piloted aerial vehicles by the thousands

I just look at it from the angle of: What if every person on the road also had a plane, and every car crash also had to deal with the impact of a bad landing as well. Flying cars have always been a bad idea.
