Show Post1/10 My thoughts on this are complicated, and begin with an embarrassing admission: I was a physics crackpot in high school. It is so very tempting, when you're good at physics in school and inspired by stories of spacetime and quanta, to imagine yourself in the role of Einstein, Feynman, etc. 🎢🧪
Show Post10/10 When you talk physics with an LLM, you can build a story together: one that sounds a lot like what you've read about Einstein et al. But unless one of you is writing down metric tensors or Lagrangians or scattering amplitudes (etc.), you're not actually doing physics. And the LLM sure isn't.
