Ed Sheeran not only capitulated, but tried to hide behind his band as an excuse - possibly a part of why his backing band stepped down. I agree that Robert Kraft & his group are the main problem and need to be disciplined with our wallets, but that doesn't let Sheeran off the hook, at all.

ed sheeran has certainly not covered himself in glory but he’s at best a miniboss here. if his concert get canceled but everyone pours into Gillette Stadium for the next pop star or nfl game, then Robert Kraft and his pals still effectively got what they wanted.
