I'm sorry but some of you need to hear this. You can compliment an artist's work without comparing that work to another artist's work or your hyperfixation. It's ... so awkward, even if you disregard the fact it's a bit rude. Sometimes I don't KNOW what my art/character is being compared to.
Show PostIt's possible to train yourself out of this habit, by the way; I did. Instead of saying "this is cool because it reminds me of THING" I think about what I love about THING and use some of those qualities to describe what draws me to it and why I think it's neat. I also try to leave a question!

Saying so means you will want to explain why the thing you like is so cool and gradually we move further and further away from ... the art I made. I want to TALK about my creations. Not some anime. 🥲
