Yarvin's reactionary writings struck a chord with reactionary rich people and racists back in the pre-Trump era in large part BECAUSE they were so derivative and ambiently familiar to his fellow reactionaries who were the descendants of Hargis, the Birchers, and such. bsky.app/profile/seth...

Yarvin is not some far-seeing Jedi master to be feared. My point here is that his ideas merely recycle very old, stale, authoritarian, far right ideas that anyone with a familiarity with the history of the US Right could suss out in a second. I doubt he's even aware of how derivative his work is.
