We stayed up late to watch anime on Adult Swim. I still vividly remember crying together during the penultimate episode of the original Fullmetal Alchemist anime, taking turns reading the latest Shonen Jump, pooling our money together to order Eva-themed playing cards and Naruto wall scrolls

They would always help me with puzzles in video games, because I totally sucked at them (still do!). One time they wouldn’t help me with a puzzle in Golden Sun, and I got so made I threw their GBA on the ground and half the screen went black. Then it became my GBA 😅

We loved playing games like Pokémon and Megaman Battle Network together. They got Pokémon Blue, I got Pokémon Red, and so it continued with every single generation since for 20 years. Even though we haven’t lived together since they went to college, I still made sure we each got different versions.

One of my favorite memories with them is us staying up after bedtime, making custom cards for the card games we were playing and sending them to each other on Pictochat (I made so many Hiei cards for the YYH Dark Tournament game lol)
