Active-duty officers can be disciplined for “disloyal statements” or “contemptuous words” against the commander in chief, including losing their pay, being kicked out of the military and even serving months in prison. He knew what speaking out could cost him, and he did it anyway. 💚✊🇺🇸

This is not just bad optics. DOJ officials, including the attorney general, are classified as “further restricted” federal employees. That means they are prohibited from taking an active role in partisan political campaigns, even on their own personal time.
