Today in 1915 the Italians try again to dislodge the Austro-Hungarians. They use the same tactics (evenly spread out frontal assaults) but add a massive artillery bombardment to begin. Savage fighting on Mount San Michele led to heavy casualties on both sides but little progress. #WW1 #FWW #GreatWar
