One of the elementary schools we work with asked me to help them make some educational signs for their pollinator garden. "I was like oh man I'm out of money right now to hire artists. I could do it myself, but I'm not great.", and they were like "Oh we were hoping you would do it!" 🥹

Show PostSometimes, fellow science people, you literally have to put it in front of people's faces for them to be like "Oh wait. You meant it". The number of neighbors who have literally gasped in reaction to a butterfly, then looked at the plants, and then looked at me, is fan-fucking-tastic.
Show PostNot to get all smug or whatever, but for the last 3 days I've been drinking my coffee & eating my lunch out front because my plants have been a hotspot for monarchs. People keep looking at the butterfly then saying some version of "Holy shit, it's working". And let me tell you, that shit rules.
