I think that when artists wish for old DA, it's actually wishing for things to go back to before socials. IDK if people remember, but in DA heyday, artists weren't all sold on the idea of monetizing everything. People joined DA because they wanted a fun & friendly community of other artists first -

Picking up this beast (12 harness 48" Macomber) on Sunday after an absolute comedy of errors in communication ;_; But getting like $6,000 of equipment for $300 is hopefully worth the hassle
