They're not thinking that far ahead. They're so high on their own supply & divorced from reality that I expect things to continue to crash until critical systems become flat-out unusable and unsafe. We're all just stuck watching this infuriating train wreck together. 🫠

It's just, I keep wondering who they think is going to wipe AI's ass like I have to constantly do for my blooming laptop, when they can't even get an operating system right, when those have been around for 50 more years than LLMs and it should really not be any mystery how to make THOSE work.
Show Posttbf, it doesn't take competency to screw everything up. All it takes is for some dumbass to give a program the ability to fire missiles, or (as has happened) replace real humans at a 911 emergency call center with a chat bot. The apocalypse requires very stupid decisions but we're getting there.
Show PostIt's like, every day somebody warns us of the impending AI apocalypse or the grey goo of nanobots that is coming, and I'm staring at my Win 11 laptop that once again can't decide whether to boot on the screen hooked up to the dock or not, so it switches off BOTH screens and I can't see ANYTHING.
