@wegschaider.bsky.socialI appreciated this thread very much and was wondering if anyone know of similar advice specifically for polisci? Both for project priorities and general career advice for junior people considering ongoing developments in AI?
Show PostThat also means the pre-registered plans must be specific (and short!) enough that a reviewer can check what is reported against what was planned. This may mean that more work ends up as exploratory, but that may actually be better for science.
Show PostWe conclude with some discussion of possible reforms to the institution. The largest is to encourage disclosure of *all* preregistered results. If every planned test must be reported, the flexibility to fish evaporates.
Show PostSecond, researchers write their own plans. If the plan is a choice, wouldn't people still choose it strategically? And in practice I see plans all the time that are vague, hard to follow, or enormously long (leaving authors the chance to pick and choose the results to focus on).
