Cocoon of tensan or Japanese wild silkmoth (Antheraea yamamai). I am pretty sure this is the same cocoon that I photographed about a month ago. Azumino, which is in the western part of Nagano, is a major producer of wild silk. Tokikubo, Komoro, Nagano #Invertebrate #Insects ヤママユガ（天蚕）の繭。長野県小諸市鴇久保 #虫

TwitX-The place where I met thousands of cool & talented people that made me feel worthwhile. BlueSky-the same as TwitX but not TwitX so that’s where I find my friends that couldn’t tolerate it there anymore. IG-the place where I connect with people I meet in real life. 😔🫠🤔

I sure do love your tiny world photos, Sam! I wish I saw more here on a regular basis like I did at that other place.

Thank you, Sam. 😊 Eventually the whole bush will look like this. Keep your fingers crossed that I catch it before the wind blows all the leaves off. 🤞
